Hey! I'm John, a software engineer who's been fortunate enough to work on some pretty fascinating projects over the years. From developing subsidence monitoring systems using satellite imagery to creating mobile apps that pilot drones automatically, I've learned that every project teaches you something new about both technology and people. What drives me is the opportunity to take complex technical challenges and turn them into solutions that genuinely help others.
I have a diverse background - from storm chasing as a graduate student and developing techniques to monitor precipitation effects on communication satellites, to helping states quantify subsidence due to overdraft of aquifers, to providing solutions for the insurance industry to assess roof damage more safely and efficiently using drones.
Currently, I'm helping build the future of brand engagement at Authentic Labs including providing GS1 digital link solutions that help companies prepare for the upcoming 2027 transition from traditional 1D barcodes to 2D QR codes. I'm always eager to learn, collaborate, and build something meaningful together.
